Josefina Simaneka Nekongo has been appointed as the new Manager Legal Services, Compliance, Risk, and Company Secretary of the National Housing Enterprise (NHE).
Nekongo is a law graduate from the University of Namibia, an admitted Legal Practitioner of the High Court of Namibia and has over 9 years of professional job experience.
The acting manager in corporate communication and marketing Tuafi Shafombabi said Nekongo has a wealth of experience and expertise in a variety of business areas, including labor, corporate, administrative law, corporate governance, compliance management, and company secretarial.
“Nekongo is a board member of three fishing firms, a council member of the Law Society of Namibia, and a board member of the Commonwealth Lawyers Association,” said Shafombabi.
Shafombabi added that Nekongo will be in charge of managing the Legal and Compliance department effectively and efficiently, providing legal advice services, and guaranteeing the effective management of legal and contractual risks. This includes, of course, expert legal counsel and Board support on Corporate Governance issues in order to give protection, compliance, and risk management guidance.
“My primary objective will be to provide leadership and ensure efficient and effective administration of the department’s people and resources. It is also critical that I communicate with other departments to ensure that risks have been recognized and that suitable risk-mitigation measures have been implemented.” Nekongo pointed out.
